With that said, let’s start with another couple important things to consider when looking for unique bow ties before getting to other more general factors.

Preferring the Printed Options

A great way to filter out many boring and uninteresting bow ties and find some awesome bow ties is to go for the printed option. The bow ties that come with a printed design are often much more stylish and attractive than other options, such as a plain classic bow tie.

This is because they usually come in great design and, more importantly, have more than a single color. Being multi-colored allows them to have a very unique look and feel compared to the general bow tie options.

Preferring the Printed Options

Even among the printed bow ties, a better option would be to go for the ones that have contrasting colors. These are great because the contrasting colors make them stand out; so even if you’re going to an event where pretty much everyone will come with a bow tie, your unique bow tie with contrasting colors will look very catchy and easily stand out.

And the good news is that there are plenty of such bow ties, so you won’t have to do a lot of searching to find them. Furthermore, they are also available in different types, including the ones that don’t even need to be tied like the pre-tied bow ties.

Considering Whether They are Easy to Tie

As much as you want to go for those unusual ties that are nothing like anything, it may not be a good idea. And that’s because they can often be a nightmare to tie.

This is the reason you must consider the ease of tying the bow tie an important factor too. After all, we are sure you won’t have a lot of time to waste on trying to tie your bow tie in different ways until one of them works.

Tying a tie is any way the last thing a person does before leaving their home for an event or occasion and having to waste a lot of time doing it is a surefire way to get late to it. Needless to mention, it can also be frustrating if the bow tie is too tricky to tie, which many ties are.

Considering Whether They are Easy to Tie

This is probably the reason we have pre-tied and read-tied bow ties these days. They come pre-tied and need very little work to hook on to your collar, and you don’t really have to tie them. These options often offer the best of both worlds, as they are generally also much more attractive and unique than many self-tie options.

Types of Bow Ties

That brings us to the different types of bow ties. No matter whether you’re looking for a unique bow tie or a real bow tie with a more classic or formal feel to it, this is something you will have to understand in order to choose the right bow tie.

Pre-Tied Bow Tie

As the name so clearly suggests, these bow ties don’t need to be tied into a knot. They already come pre-made with a knot or bow, and you won’t have to do anything except fasten them to your collar.

The fastening is easy and quick, and need to be done using an adjustable neck strap.

One of the best things about these bow ties is that you usually don’t have to worry about the sizes as these are designed to fit many different neck sizes easily and comfortably. They allow quite a bit of adjustability as well in a slider or ladderway.

Ready-Tied Bow Tie

This type is similar to the pre-tied one in the way that it too comes with a pre-made bow and you don’t have to tie any knots. However, it is different in the sense that it looks completely like a self-tied bow tie, or as if you have tied it yourself.

Ready-Tied Bow Tie

This gives it a more natural look and usually helps it make it more appealing than a pre-tied bow tie.

Its shape is pretty neat too, as it’s divided into two uniform parts. The divider is the center knot, which usually has a twisted look, often giving it the uniqueness that wouldn’t fail to please you.

Clip-On Bow Tie

This too has some similarity with the above two bow ties in that it doesn’t require to be tied either. However, the biggest difference is that instead of you having to fasten it to your collar using a neck strap, you would have a small clip on the back part of the bow.

This clip is to be hooked on to the topmost button of your shirt, which is how it will tie itself. It would work much better for those that find it difficult to use the above two types of bow ties due to having to fasten them, or simply don’t want to reveal the neck strap.

Another unique thing about them is that they come in a one size fits all design, so you don’t have to worry about the size or even the adjustability.

Self-Tie Bow Tie

This is your typical DIY option. It’s basically just a single strip of fabric, that you will be tasked with tying yourself.

Of course, it would take a fair bit of time before you can learn to tie into a knot properly yourself. It would obviously also take a bit of time to do it every time you want to tie it.

But it can be worth it due to the variety of self-tie bow ties available on the market, and the fact that these are also very adjustable to fit pretty much any neck size.
